Cross-Strait Intelligent Manufacturing Industry Exchange Held in Qingdao: KTS Shares Advances in Smart Chassis Testing Technology

On December 2, the “Cross-Strait (Qingdao) Intelligent Manufacturing Industry Cooperation and Exchange Event” was held at the Shangri-La Hotel, Qingdao. Organized by the Intelligent Equipment Group of the Cross-Strait Entrepreneurs Summit, the event brought together government officials, industry experts, and corporate executives from the intelligent manufacturing sector across the strait. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on industry trends, strategic priorities, and cooperation opportunities in intelligent manufacturing.

Mr. Liu Yunlai, General Manager of Shandong KTS Industrial Systems Co., Ltd., was invited to attend the conference and delivered a keynote speech during the “Enterprise Representative Presentations on Intelligent Manufacturing” session. He shared the latest advancements in smart chassis testing technology and the broad prospects for cross-strait industrial collaboration.

  1. Accelerated Upgrading of Smart Chassis Drives Systemic Transformation in Testing Technology

In his speech, Mr. Liu noted that the automotive industry is entering a new phase characterized by the deep convergence of electrification, intelligence, and softwareization. With the rapid development of intelligent steering, brake-by-wire, active suspension, and other core modules, the automotive chassis is evolving from a traditional mechanical structure into an intelligent system.

“The pace of smart chassis development has already outstripped the capabilities of traditional testing systems. Future testing is no longer about ‘testing components’—it is about ‘testing systems, testing algorithms, and testing safety.'”

Drawing on industry pain points and KTS’s practical experience in smart chassis testing equipment, Mr. Liu systematically outlined three major upgrading trends in the testing field:

  1. High-precision, multi-variable closed-loop control becomes the new standard

Testing systems must deliver high-bandwidth closed-loop performance across multiple variables—including torque, speed, and displacement—to meet the real-time response requirements of steer-by-wire, brake-by-wire, and other systems.

  1. Laboratory “road reproduction” emerges as a critical capability

Leveraging technologies such as hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), simulation modeling, and road data replay, laboratories must be able to recreate complex driving conditions—including low-adhesion surfaces, emergency collision avoidance, and long-duration endurance tests—thereby significantly improving development efficiency.

  1. Data assetization and traceability become essential requirements

Test data is no longer a simple record but a core asset for R&D闭环, quality audits, and remote diagnostics. Testing equipment must support full-chain metrological traceability and data integrity protection

4.Complementary Manufacturing Strengths Across the Strait Offer Significant Opportunities in Smart Chassis Testing

In line with the conference theme of “Empowering Integration Through Digital Intelligence,” Mr. Liu emphasized the inherent synergies between the two sides in intelligent manufacturing:

  • Mainland China possesses a complete industrial chain, vast market application scenarios, and the world’s most extensive real-world vehicle road-test environments.
  • Taiwan holds global leadership in precision manufacturing, electronic control, semiconductor processes, and power devices.

The development of smart chassis testing equipment precisely requires the deep integration of mechanics, electronics, software, and precision manufacturing—offering substantial room for cross-strait collaboration.

Mr. Liu expressed KTS’s willingness to advance practical cooperation with peers on both sides in the following three directions:

  • Jointly establishing a smart chassis testing standard system
  • Co-developing key sensors, actuators, and high-performance measurement and control platforms
  • Collaboratively expanding into international markets, including Southeast Asia and Europe

As the smart vehicle industry accelerates both domestically and globally, the smart chassis—as a core domain of vehicle intelligence—demands ever-higher performance from testing equipment. As a high-tech enterprise dedicated to smart chassis testing technology for automobiles, KTS will continue to pursue key technological breakthroughs with an open and cooperative stance, contributing to the high-quality development of the industry.
